Hymus is a perfect party place located in Oshiwara, Andheri. I visited the area for the first time ever since I moved to Mumbai (I have recently relocated from Delhi to Mumbai).
This place has an attractive bar and the name is derived from a Kannada phrase which literally means ‘people place’ and it doesn’t surprises me either because the restaurant is owned by Saumya Shetty, a kannadiga herself.
Talking more about the resto-bar :-
Ambience- It’s dark but not too much, it’s vintage but absolutely about perfect with a very modern touch. It’s both outdoors and indoor sitting area which makes it different from others in the line. Music is another highlight of this place as it isn’t too loud on a regular day but definitely changes with weekend vibes.
Food & Beverage-
Quirky cocktails and mocktails, with eye-popping names and interesting presentation leaves a great impact on the clients.
I tried Kung pao potatoes- it’s a indi-chinese dish that made me like potatoes with its mild flavors.
Pesto Paneer- fried paneer cubes, mixed well in pesto sauce and served as it’s. The highlight of the dish is it’s consistent pesto sauce.
Latino Bruschetta- You got to order these! Usually bruschetta’s are bland for me but these were bomb on my palate with tomato, olives cheese and small paneer pieces.
Hot Garlic Paneer- high on ginger and garlic, the paneer is soft but after taste made me feel as if it was sauted. You can avoid this dish, however it’s not bad in taste but nothing unusual.
Jollof Rice- mildly fried rice with basil, parsley, tomato, onion, ginger, zucchini and broccoli. The main hero of this dish is the sauce/gravy that comes along with the rice. Together they make a perfect pair and I’d recommend this totally!
There are dishes in non veg as well but it was one of those days when I wanted to pay attention to veg food.
This place is feather in the buzzing Oshiwara’s cap.
